My name is Lexie Janson and I am a drone racing pilot for 3 years now (started in January 2015. Although I am also a licensed UAV pilot since 2014) . Born in Poland, but currently living in Germany. In everyday life a programmer, web developer and educator. Sharing the passion to Drones and FPV with people via Geek Girls Carrots, Hackerspace, Women in tech and other organizations. Which is helping me to get more women into the sport. I work a lot towards Drone community and I have been rewarded for that by “Drone360” and “Women and Drones” with a prize “Women to watch in UAS” in category – emerging.
I have started racing to show it’s real beauty – Drone racing is for everyone – it doesn’t matter the age, gender or nationality. And to really send that message – we have to show that it’s possible. Back in 2016 and 2017 I was mostly the only female pilot on the races. My first event that had 4 women in it was in Germany – Friedewalde.
In 2018 I have already competed in 23 drone racing events, in which I am getting higher and higher places. On Southern German Drone Race I was the first women in German history to get into the semi-finals. Where I finished as 8th (out of 120 pilots).
Sharing the hobby with public via my YouTube channel and Instagram (in both nickname MaiOnHigh) while showing the beauty of community, places, flying and living. Aiming to grow better and stronger while having a lot of fun!
